While all is set and locked down with Goff, the same may not be able to be said for his backup on the depth chart.

It’s also a story that may not go away anytime soon, especially if Mannion or Allen continue as they have.

One question that is likely to be asked, especially if Mannion or Allen don’t get worse or neccesarily better, is if McVay and the Rams are content to ride it out in 2018 and hope good health is the best bud of Goff all this season.

Regardless if McVay plays his starters or does not, the storyline that has emerged regarding the status of a backup looms large. Whether the Rams will feel compelled to play Goff to simply play him or keep him in bubble wrap, may be determined by Los Angeles simply needing to see more from every QB, except the guy currently occupying the top of the depth chart.
