Los Angeles Rams: 3 grades for Week 5 against the Seahawks
By Steve Rivera
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff had another day with some big numbers. Goff would throw for 321 yards, completing 23 passes on 32 attempts but also had two interceptions, meaning he is mortal after all.
Hey, I’m on record thinking Goff could be tracking towards an MVP kind of season especially after Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings. His Week 5 also saw him convert late on a fourth down that effectively sealed the deal for Los Angeles and maybe even sealed the deal in a weak NFC West.
The Rams offense can hit you from a lot of different angles. Goff is completely and thoroughly unfazed by a missed pass or an interception. His willingness to just keep firing away works in an offense that is all about the firepower, damn the mistakes.
Los Angeles is tracking towards a season where points will keep piling up alongside the wins. If Cooper Kupp and Brandin Cooks are good for Week 6, that trend will undoubtedly continue.
Finally, Goff is beginning to look like “that guy.” NFL analysts all seem in unison that Los Angeles is probably the best team in the league, and that Goff is tracking towards that upper echelon of quarterbacks who can get it done week in and week out. In this Sean McVay offense where offensive angles and scoring opportunities are abundant, Goff looks to have a limitless ceiling.
Goff had a good Week 5 not a great one, but in this offense, that’s not a bad deal.
