The Seattle Seahawks are a team likely to finish 8-8 on the 2018 NFL season, but given the rivalry with their longtime NFC West stepbrother, Week 5 in the division was a big deal, especially with what was ahead for the Rams.

Los Angeles had the benefit of playing three of their first four regular season games at home. After opening up on the road at the Oakland Raiders, a 33-13 win, the Rams played the Arizona Cardinals, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Vikings at home before heading to Seattle for a big divisional game.

The Seahawks have long been the pace-setters in the West. Week 5 in the 2018 season saw the baton being passed, or perhaps wrestled away, to the team who may be atop the division for a good while to come.

To bad Seattle.

The Rams won a tough game that afternoon in Seattle 33-31 as Rams quarterback Jared Goff executed a quarterback sneak that set the table for what was to come before the bye week in their 2018 schedule.

It was also another watershed kind of moment for a team who a lot in the NFL world hadn’t yet discovered. 33-31 in the Pacific Northwest on a Sunday afternoon doesn’t move a lot of needles, but it should, especially when it’s the the team who may be best aligned to win a Super Bowl in 2018.
