At 10-1, the Los Angeles Rams are a team sitting at the top of the NFC along with the 10-1 New Orleans Saints. It’s a two team battle that will go deep into December before home field advantage is likely decided. Week 13 offers up a tough one for New Orleans as they play the Cowboys to kick of the NFL weekend.

For Los Angeles, they travel to Detroit to face a 4-7 Lions team who is tagged with another disappointing season in the inaugural debut of Matt Patricia. The former assistant in New England has had a tough go in year one, and things don’t look to get much easier for his team with the Rams coming to town.

Sean McVay is tasked this week with the potential of some letdown after the fireworks displayed in Week 11 against the Kansas City Chiefs, a shootout they survived to win 54-51. It’s also a game they need as December promises a scenario where they will have to keep up with the Saints and MVP candidate Drew Brees.

The Rams will have some help coming soon as cornerback Aqib Talib is back from an ankle injury. That’s critical news as Los Angeles has been getting torched by big plays for the better part of the season. It’s also expected that his return will help Marcus Peters who has become a big part of LA’s defensive woes.
