Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has numbers to make what most would say is an open and shut case. Even if he is shut down for the rest of 2018, the statistics are still compelling.

For a career, short though it may be, Wentz has 10,152 passing yards to Goff having 8.827. He also has a total of 72 to 61 touchdowns advantage and has an average QBR rating of 63.8 to 58 for Goff.

Again, understanding it’s possible that Wentz may be out for the rest of the season, it’s a trend that indicates over the long term Philadelphia likely selected the better quarterback. It’s also just as likely had Wentz been in a position to complete his 2018 season, those numbers and the trend it indicates would have proven the point.

Numbers being what they are, they also don’t lie.
They also show that both quarterbacks are very close statistically.

As subjective as they may be relative to the type of systems they play in, you can’t see a lot of daylight between the two. Then again in sports, you are what the numbers say they are and in that regard, a good argument can be made that Wentz and the Eagles have an edge.
