It’s hard to see the 10-4 Bears coughing one up on the road against the 4-10 San Francisco 49ers, or is it? Chicago is coming off of a big win at home against the Green Bay Packers 24-17. Now, they head out to finish their 2018 campaign with two road games as they also play at the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17.

Meanwhile, the Niners are riding a two game winning streak after recent home wins against the Denver Broncos and an upset overtime win last week against the Seahawks. Of note, San Francisco is in the midst of a December where they will play four playoff bound teams in their last five games with the Los Angeles Rams looming on the road in Week 17.

All that said, the 49ers have a chance to move to 5-10 with a win against Chicago. It’s also a chance for the Bears to keep pace and some pressure on LA with the Rams playing a near hapless Cardinals on the road.

If the Bears and Los Angeles can manage wins this week in games they are the favorite in, both will still have something to play for in Week 17. Something few fans and NFL watchers saw coming when the calendar turned to December.
