It was reported that running back Todd Gurley was limited in practice on Tuesday. For the Rams, that’s not wonderful news.

What IS good news and especially calming for Los Angeles fans is that C.J. Anderson is more than capable of filling whatever void is left by a less than 100 percent Gurley.

It’s also logical that Anderson could be something of an X-Factor and end up with a bigger rushing game than the Rams Pro Bowl running back. Los Angeles will need a big effort from their running game or at least one that helps with being balanced against a very good Dallas Cowboys defense.

Neither fans or TV analysts will probably know the true extent of Gurley’s injury until after the Rams season ends. If he’s limited the rest of the week leading up to Saturday’s playoff game, it’s reasonable to think Anderson will loom large in McVay’s offensive game plan.

Now with having said all that, Anderson knows that Cowboys defense, and it may serve to make him a factor bigger than otherwise, as the Rams get their playoff run under way.

Look for the second guy on the running back depth chart to get a lot of touches and more yards than Gurley. That doesn’t mean 150 plus yards, but more than the guy who had been considered an MVP candidate not so long ago.
