If the Dallas Cowboys did anything, it was to provide a solid template for how to beat the New Orleans Saints. This past Saturday night in the Coliseum, the Los Angeles Rams flipped the script and it was an LA defense led by Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh who did the damage to a talented and potent Dallas rushing game and stopped Ezekile Elliott.

Sunday in New Orleans, that same Rams defense will be in demand, needing to harass and put the clamps on Brees and the machine that is the Saints offense.

The best news for fans is that Suh finally showed up and was a legitimate presence for the Rams defense.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had a decent game, throwing for 266 yards, completing 20 passes on 32 attempts and adding a touchdown. Where the Los Angeles defense shined was in making Elliott and Prescott non-factors while running the football. Elliott was held to 47 yards and Dak to three. Significant numbers considering how bad the Rams defense has been against the run.

Expect coordinator Wade Phillips to have his unit get hands and hits on Brees. Also expect Aqib Talib to be a significant presence against the pass. What happened with Marcus Peters getting burned won’t happen again on Sunday.
