As the LA Rams face a new season filled with change, the team may be welcoming back familiar faces. Here are 5 former LA Rams that could return in 2020.

The LA Rams are a little bit tight on the NFL salary cap purse strings at the moment. That can change rapidly, as we’d pointed out in our 5 steps to $80 million article several weeks ago. But in the meantime, we’ve been looking at places for the Rams to frugally fix the offensive line, free agents due for a comeback in 2020, and even free agents who nobody is talking about.  If there was an inexpensive option to fill an NFL position, we’ve tried it.

That includes the painful task of listing the five players who will likely not be back in 2020. Whether due to salary cap constraints, a need to convert a roster surplus into draft picks, or simply a “can no longer afford the luxury of” issue.  The Rams will be undergoing some changes in 2020, and as a result, will find new ways of doing things.

But sometimes, the more things change, the more they remain the same. As the LA Rams enter the unknown territory of 2020, there are good reasons why the team would find value in the familiar.

The Rams welcome three new coordinators to Los Angeles this year. New Coordinators, but for the most part, the LA Rams’ coaching staff remains intact. Only running backs coach Thomas Brown and assistant special teams coach Tory Woodbury are new to the coaching staff.  So the Rams are learning how to mingle the known with the unknown. Perhaps that same strategy could work on the 2020 53-man roster. If so, here are five former players who could return to the team in 2020.
