The Jacksonville Jaguars are going with Gardner Minshew as their starting quarterback. They need help on the right side of the offensive line, and that means they are in the market for LA Rams offensive lineman Rob Havenstein, whether they want to admit it or not. Will the Rams part with Havenstein is the question?  We don’t think that the team will do so now.

Initially, the expectation was that the LA Rams would be looking at some competition for the right offensive tackle spot. But the onset of COVID-19 eliminated OTAs and preseason games from the offseason schedule. As a result, veterans Andrew Whitworth, Austin Blythe, and Havenstein are the starters for the team when the season starts in 2020.  So who can the Rams offer instead?

Let’s make a deal!

The Rams have rookie right tackle Tremayne Anchrum as a backup. That gives the Rams an option to trade last year’s late-season starting right tackle Bobby Evans on the block for the right price. That right price will need to be a conditional third-round pick, plus the restoration of the Rams fourth-round pick owed to the Jaguars.

Evans immediately slides in as the starter. With his starting experience from 2019, he has a good understanding of the NFL offensive line. And with his youth, he can be coached up to be a solid fit for the Jaguars this season.  And with the Jaguars going with Minshew at quarterback, Evans is a solid addition to their offensive line both today and tomorrow.
