Will injuries play a major role?

The hottest player on the LA Rams offense in recent weeks has been rookie running back Cam Akers. That’s a problem in week 16, because he injured his ankle in a loss to the New York Jets. It’s even a bigger problem because the Rams have not been effective enough in the passing game, and Akers has been the Rams best offensive weapon.

But the Rams may have another option. In their latest victory over the suddenly dangerous Washington Football team, they struggled to defend tight end Logan Thomas for the entire game. The Rams have had recent success by throwing to tight ends. Both Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett can be an important factor with Akers out. The pair combined for five of nine for 87 yards receiving in the first matchup. They’ll need to double that output, and scored twice,  to help the Rams win this one.
