Who are the announcers and referees for the Rams vs. the Saints today?

Will the NFL officials play a major role in this game?

When it comes to the LA Rams, it seems as though I am constantly citing another 'must win,' game for the team. If that offends you, I truly apologize. The problem so far in 2024 has been the fact that the team has only won about half of the games this season, prolonging the 'must win,' scenario well into the month of December 2024.

As soon as the team opened the season with a 1-4 record, the team set the stage for urgency throughout the rest of the way. Even after knotting the record at 5-5, the Rams failed to climb above the .500 mark. Even if the Rams win in Week 13 against the New Orleans Saints, the team will face the Buffalo Bills (9-2) in Week 14.

So don't expect the Rams to climb above .500 anytime soon.

If the team is to win, that has to start now, in Week 13. The Rams cannot afford to lose any more games, and the Saints, while quite dangerous, are not in the same league as the Bills this season. And so, it's now or never for the team, again.

Announcers for Rams vs Saints

  • Lead Play-by-Play Announcer: Kenny Albert
  • Color Commentator: Jonathan Vilma
  • Sideline Reporter: Megan Olivi

Albert and crew last covered the Rams at the Seattle Seahawks game on November 3, 2024, a game which the Rams won by the score of 26-20.

Play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert remains the longest-tenured sports announcer on the Fox Sports NFL broadcast team, boasting 31 years of multi-sport announcing. Color commentary is provided by former three-time Pro Bowl linebacker Jonathan Vilma, who played six seasons for the New Orleans Saints (so prepare for a bit of bias from the broadcast booth). This is Megan Olivi's first full season of NFL coverage. Olivi has an extensive background in covering MMA and UFC and has been a part-time sideline reporter with Fox Sports since 2018.

Referees for Rams vs Saints

Head Referee: Brad Allen

This is Brad Allen's 11th NFL season as a referee. He and his crew officiated the Green Bay Packers vs. the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5 this season, a game that the Rams lost by a score of 24-19. In that game, the Rams were called for five penalties of 30 yards, while the Packers were flagged for seven penalties of 39 yards.

Full officiating crew

  • Head Referee: Brad Allen
  • Umpire: Duane Heydt
  • Down Judge: Sarah Thomas
  • Line Judge: Walter Flowers
  • Field Judge: Rick Patterson
  • Side Judge: Chad Hill
  • Back Judge: Tyree Walton
  • Replay Official: Kevin Brown
  • Replay Assistant: Durwood Manley

Brad Allen's crew tends to be a bit more judicious in flagging penalties during games. His crew averages just 11.36 penalties per game in 2024, compared to an NFL league average of 12.82 penalties per game. And so, Allen's crew averages just 78.64 penalty yards per game versus the NFL league average of 103.48 penalty yards per game.

Despite the game occurring on Week 13, both the Rams and Saints are relatively healthy for the contest. That has not always been the case for either team, which is why both have fallen to sub-.500 records at this point of the 2024 NFL season.

If you can't catch the game by streaming or television broadcast, you can still catch it on the radio. Here's how to listen to the Rams' game on the radio in Week 13.
