The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to go after Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Kenny Britt once free agency officially gets underway later this week.

Despite becoming the team’s first 1,000-yard receiver since 2007 last season, all signs point to the Los Angeles Rams parting ways with wide receiver Kenny Britt in free agency. Nothing against Britt, but one of the reasons why the team seems willing to part ways with their wideout is due to the fact he was brought on board by Jeff Fisher, who was fired before the end of last season, back in 2014.

Thanks to crossing the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career in 2016, it will only be a matter of time before Britt finds a new home with a different team when looking at all of the teams in desperate need of help at wide receiver. Last month, the Philadelphia Eagles were one of those teams linked to Britt as a possible team to join for the 2017 season, and according to ESPN’s Tim McManus, the interest is still there for Doug Pederson and company.

When it comes to teams in need of help at wide receiver, the Eagles rank near the top of the list after seeing how much Carson Wentz struggled in his first year under center. Unfortunately for Wentz, the young quarterback learned the hard way there’s only so much he can do on his own without the proper help on offense, and the possible addition of Britt would give Philadelphia a big target to work with in the passing game.

As of now, Britt is expected to earn a deal in free agency that would put him in the range of making between $6-$8 million per season, and even though this seems like a fair price for the 28-year-old wideout, don’t be surprised if the Rams still end up parting ways. Plus, Britt joining the Eagles would give him the chance to reunite with Mike Groh, who came to the City of Brotherly Love after spending last season with Los Angeles.

In other words, Philadelphia provides Britt with an opportunity to work with a coach that helped him put together one of his best seasons in 2016 after catching 68 passes for 1,002 yards with five touchdowns.
