The Los Angeles Rams are not out of the woods in terms of NFL rumors just yet. Even as the rumors linking Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie to LA panned out, the NFL rumors season is just getting started. General manager Les Snead all but admitted he was trying to pry McDuffie from the Chiefs.

And then he did it. And he may not be finished just yet.

So what other NFL rumors should fans keep on their radar now? Well, ESPN NFL analyst Jeremy Fowler shared that the Arizona Cardinals were sizing up the release of quarterback Kyler Murray. He went on to say that if/when that happened, backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo would become a top free agent target to run head coach Mike LaFleur's offense.

Well, the Cardinals are releasing Kyler Murray.

The fun doesn't stop there. Rams legendary quarterback Jim Everett thinks that Los Angeles would be well served to sign Kyler Murray to the roster. Because Murray has a boatload of guaranteed money from the Cardinals, he will be available for the league-minimum. And the only other quarterback option for LA right now is backup Stetson Bennett.

Rams already have a vested interest in Kyler Murray's NFL future

The LA Rams hired former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury to the coaching staff. Both Kingsbury and head coach Sean McVay have sought the right time to collaborate. And now, the two good friends feel the time is ripe to join forces.

But is there more to this than meets the eye?

McVay is the master of pocket passer quarterbacks. Kingsbury has mastered mobile quarterback offenses. And now one of the NFL's elite mobile quarterbacks is up for grabs at a cost of next to nothing. Does Jim Everett's suggestion have any merit?

You bet it does. Just like Garoppolo, Murray brings a tarnished reputation with him. If he and his agent are clever, Los Angeles is the perfect landing spot to rejuvenate his NFL reputation. And who better to do that than the coach who propelled his on-field production to Pro Bowl levels?

Murray needn't be expected to be Mathew Stafford's successor. But he could be the ideal template for the coaching staff to explore entirely new chapters in the offensive playbook. This team has never had the caliber of mobility at the quarterback position that Kyler Murray brings.

And as NFL defenses continue to catch up to McVay's offensive innovations, the fleet-footed quarterback could keep LA ahead of defensive coordinators for another year or two.

Adding Murray to this roster changes the entire draft shopping list. Just as McDuffie addressed the need for cornerback help, the former-Cardinals quarterback would address the team's immediate need for quarterback help.

Best of all, NFL rumors linking Kyler Murray to the LA Rams just inched closer to reality.

As always, thanks for reading.
