Rams-Niners To Be Televised Locally
The St. Louis Rams will close out their 2011 season on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, and those in the St. Louis area who won’t be making the trip to the Dome will still be able to watch the finale. After being granted a 24-hour extension from the league to sell the remaining tickets, Rams ownership bought the unsold group to allow the game to be shown. As much as we like to make jokes about not watching this team anymore, I’m very glad I will be able to catch the game Sunday since I won’t be making it [...]
Bradford, Feeley Expected To Be Out Sunday
For those of you who were hoping to get one last chance to see Sam Bradford play this season, it looks like you are going to have to wait. Bradford – along with backup AJ Feeley – both missed practice again on Thursday and are expected to miss Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. Kellen Clemens is expected to make his third-consecutive start when the team takes to the field on Sunday. Considering that the 49ers have a scary defense and considering they still have something to play for, it’s definitely the right move to go with Clemens. In [...]
No Pro Bowlers For The Rams
The Pro Bowl teams for the AFC and NFC were announced this week, and as you might imagine, no one from the Rams’ two-win team made the NFC squad. That doesn’t necessarily mean the Rams won’t have a representative, however. St. Louis did have three players named as alternates to the squad, and it seems likely that at least one, if not more, will be in Hawaii. The three guys are the ones you would probably guess: Chris Long, Steven Jackson and James Laurinaitis. I know I’m biased, but there’s no doubt in my mind that Long and Laurinaitis should [...]
Gruden To St. Louis?
For those of you who are suckers for the rumor mill like me, you have probably already heard this. For anyone who hasn’t heard, a report surfaced Tuesday that if the Chargers fire GM AJ Smith after this season, that Stan Kroenke would bring him in as the next Rams GM and head coach Jon Gruden would come along with Smith and be hired as the next St. Louis head man. I know that’s a lot to digest. I tend to be skeptical most of the time when these things come out, but I think this might actually be possible. [...]
King Headed For Surgery
It wouldn’t be the final week of the season without another Rams player needing surgery, so this week’s member of the club is CB Justin King. King will miss the final week of the season and will undergo surgery on his shoulder. King injured the shoulder a few weeks ago, and the team decided this week that he will go under the knife. Not that it really matters at this point, but it’s still unfortunate that another corner will be having surgery. The Rams are facing a tall order this week when they take on San Francisco, but I doubt [...]
2012 NFL MOCK DRAFT -Coming Soon
Well Well Well. Once Again the St. Louis Rams are one of the worst teams in the league. Decided next week we might be the worst team. It is very disappointing. With Pujols leaving St. Louis now football might be all we got. So Stan the owner of the Rams should get our coaching right. Especially at QB coach. Which was a dumb move not to get one. Also not trying to move up to get a WR. This year season is way worse than all of our bad seasons. But it is because of injuries. Our defense was not [...]
Rams Hammered By Steelers
Sorry for the delay in posting, but my site was down yesterday and I have been busy with Christmas stuff today. Speaking of that, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Anyway, if you didn’t get to see the Rams and Steelers yesterday, don’t worry because you didn’t miss much. The Rams did nothing on offense once again and fell to Pittsburgh 27-0. If there was anyone out there who was ready to annoint Kellen Clemens, he threw for less than 100 yards in the loss. The one bright spot was Steven Jackson, who looked good all day [...]
Bradford Almost Certainly Out Saturday
The Rams aren’t going as far as ruling QB Sam Bradford out for Saturday’s game in Pittsburgh, but it is highly, highly likely that Kellen Clemens is going to get the start against the Steelers. Bradford was unable to practice again Thursday, and Spags said that it’s unlikely he will test the ankle out during Friday’s walk-through. Again, no surprise here but everyone should be prepared to see Clemens under center again. Speaking of injured QB’s, AJ Feeley also missed practice again on Thursday and has been ruled out for Saturday. Unless something crazy happens between now and then, Clemens [...]
Rams WR Austin Pettis Suspended
Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse for the St. Louis Rams, the NFL announced on Wednesday that rookie WR Austin Pettis has been suspended for 4 weeks for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. According to the report, Pettis will miss the final two games this season and the first two next season, but he will be able to participate in all offseason team activities and preseason practices and games next season. Here is a statement from Pettis to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: “I apologize to the St. Louis Rams, my teammates, and our fans for making a [...]
Rams Place Josh Hull On IR
The St. Louis Rams made it out of Sunday’s game against the Bengals relatively healthy, but the one big injury was to LB/Special Teamer Josh Hull. Hull was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with an ankle injury, ending his 2011 season. I feel bad for Hull, because I think he has some potential, but he just hasn’t been able to stay healthy since the team drafted him. He did show some good things on special teams when he was able to play this season, but it’s hard to judge him based on the limited time he has been able to [...]
