Rams Fans Think Spags Is Almost Done

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

I checked out the chat with Jim Thomas over at STLToday.com, and one thing that was abundantly clear was that for most Rams fans, it’s not a question of IF Steve Spagnuolo will be fired, but a question of WHEN. It seemed like every question that came up involved the scenario after Spags is gone. I am finding it very difficult to find reasons why Spags will be back next season. I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I don’t know if I can anymore. For what it’s worth, it sounds like Stan Kroenke has [...]

Spags Press Conference Recap: 11/28

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

As you might imagine, Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo had plenty to say on Monday after his team’s 23-20 loss to the Arizona Cardinals over the weekend. Here is a recap of some of what he had to say. I have been highly critical of Spags and this team recently, and I think it has been justified. However, Spags brought something up that I think is worth mentioning. I will start with that, then we’ll get into the injury stuff. The quote is long, so jump to the next page for the injury report. “I want to thank our fans [...]

Rams Fall To 2-9 With Loss To Cards

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

I really felt good about this one. I figured that we were the better team a few weeks ago and today we were at home. I know the injuries are a problem, but I really felt like the Rams were going to leave the Dome with a win. Obviously, I was wrong yet again. The Rams dropped their 9th game of the season with their 23-20 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. There is plenty to be said about today’s game, but I’m going to discuss two sequences that I haven’t been able to get out of my mind. They are [...]

Rams Keys To Victory Vs. Cardinals

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Rams are in desperate need of a win, and they will welcome the Arizona Cardinals to town on Sunday in an NFC West battle that is certainly a game they can get. Here are some things that have to happen if the Rams are going to leave the Dome victorious this weekend. 1. Block Calais Campbell – Campbell showed in our last meeting that he is a tough matchup for any offensive line, but with the Rams down up front, Campbell and the rest of the Arizona D-line could be a major problem. It’s not a good situation on [...]

Rams Place Jason Smith On IR

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

The IR list got a little more crowded on Friday (as it seems to every day) as the Rams placed OT Jason Smith on as he recovers from a concussion. Smith tried to work out earlier in the week, but he suffered from concussion symptoms when he tried to ramp things up. With the injuries on the offensive line piling up, the team decided to end Smith’s season so they could add another body to the group. To take his place, the team signed G/C Bryan Mattison, who was cut by the Ravens on Wednesday. Mattison has seen some NFL [...]

Rams Place Clayton On IR

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

The season is over for yet another member of the St. Louis Rams, as the team placed WR Mark Clayton on injured reserve as he continues to deal with knee issues. According to the team, Clayton was dealing with soreness in both of his knees and surgery was being considered. Clayton didn’t have much of a chance to make an impact this season, as he played in just two games. He will be replaced on the roster by WR Nick Miller. As far as the rest of the injuries go, Justin Bannan, Josh Hull, Mark LeVoir and Jason Smith did [...]

Johnson Placed On IR

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

That makes 10. The Rams placed cornerback Marquis Johnson on IR with a lacerated spleen on Tuesday, making him the 10th corner to go on IR for the Rams this season. Johnson spent the night in the hospital with what was originally called an abdominal strain, but tests revealed the actual injury. According to doctors, Johnson will not need surgery but will need rest and recovery. It’s a tough break for a guy who hasn’t been able to catch one so far in his career. I thought he did a decent job this season when he was out there, and [...]

The Rams Injuries Keep Piling Up

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

It has become common practice on Mondays this season to take a look at the injuries from Sunday’s game, so I guess there’s no reason to change it up now. I mean, there’s plenty to talk about each and every week so we might as well keep doing it. The injury list for the Rams continues to grow larger and larger, and although there weren’t any season-enders this week (at least not yet), there were some issues. Let’s start with the most serious. OT Mark LeVoir will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a pectoral strain. I don’t know what [...]

Rams Hammered At Home By Hawks

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

For awhile on Sunday, I was actually feeling like it was going to be a good day. The Rams got ahead of the Seattle Seahawks 7-0, and it looked like everything was on the right track. Then, the Rams offense took the rest of the day off and Seattle went on to beat St. Louis in convincing fashion, 24-7. With the loss, the Rams fall to 2-8 on the season and if my math is correct, they have been mathematically eliminated from NFC West contention. To say today was a disappointment would be an understatement. This was a little different [...]

Getting To Know The Seattle Seahawks

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

I had a chance to chat with Keith Myers from the Seattle Seahawks Fansided blog 12th Man Rising this week, and he was kind enough to answer some questions to help us Rams fans get to know our opponent better. As always when we do this, you can head over to his site to see the questions he had for me. 1. Marshawn Lynch is a guy I have liked since college, but he really looks to be hitting his stride. Is he for real, and how good can he be? Lynch is a solid power back, but he doesn’t [...]
