Rams Shock Saints For First Win

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well how about that? I’m not going to lie and say I saw this one coming, because I didn’t. I was just hoping the Rams would be able to stay in the game. But the Rams came out today and played their best game of the season, and other that a little rough patch in the second half, I though they played as complete a game as they are capable of in their 31-21 win over the New Orleans Saints. I have been highly critical of this team on here all season, so I think it’s only fair that I [...]

Bradford Out, Others Doubtful For Sunday

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

I would imagine that most of you reading this from St. Louis had a long weekend with the Cardinals winning the World Series and all, so you can sympathize with me being unable to post last night while I spent the night downtown celebrating with the rest of the city. In my absence, the Rams announced that quarterback Sam Bradford will miss Sunday’s game against the Saints as he continues to recover from his ankle injury. I can’t say I’m overly shocked, but it is disappointing. I guess there’s no reason to rush him back before he’s ready with the [...]

Rams CB Johnson Could Be Active Sunday

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

With the glaring lack of depth at the cornerback position, it looks like the Rams might have their hand forced this weekend when they take on the offensive juggernaut that is the New Orleans Saints at the Edward Jones Dome. Reports are coming out of Rams Park that CB Marquis Johnson could make his 2011 season debut on Sunday after spending the first part of the year on the PUP list while recovering from a knee injury sustained last season. With Justin King still unable to practice on Thursday, making his status for Sunday up in the air, it looks [...]

Rams Press Conference Recap: 10/26

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo met with the media after Wednesday’s practice, and he had some interesting things to say about injury statuses and other issues the team will be dealing with heading into Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. Here are some quotes from Spags on several of these issues. Injury Status: “(WR) Danario (Alexander) is still dealing with the hamstring. (RB) Jerious Norwood had an illness. We might have, we’ve had a couple guys in the last few days with the bug. They used to call it the bug, I don’t know what it is now, they’ve [...]

What Are Bradford’s Chances Of Playing This Week?

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

I was reading over Rams beat writer Jim Thomas’ chat tonight like I do every Tuesday, and the vast majority of it was Rams fans venting on how bad this team is and how Stan Kroenke needs to clean house after the season is over. You know, the normal stuff. But then I came upon something I found to be very interesting. When asked what the chances are that quarterback Sam Bradford is able to play this week, Thomas said he believes there is only a 25% chance Bradford is able to go against the Saints. I was under the [...]

Rams Injury Recap: Not Much Good News

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well, coming off Sunday’s miserable game against the Cowboys, the news just gets better for the Rams. Taking a look at the injury report from Coach Steve Spagnuolo at his press conference today, let’s start at the top. As far as Sam Bradford goes, he will be shut down until Wednesday, when he will be evaluated again. There shouldn’t be more concern here than usual, but it will still be one of those things where we just have to wait and see how he progresses. The big injuries from Sunday were Jason Smith and Darell Scott. Smith has been diagnosed [...]

Are Spags & Devaney the nice guys finishing last?

AUTHOR: | IN: Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

First of all, follow me on Twitter @DarrynOTL if you are interested in being on a Rams Roundtable, part of a new TV show I am producing. Ok, as we all know, the Rams are taking zero steps forward and 40 back each and every pitiful week. We started rebuilding last year. It shouldn’t take 8-10 games the next year to continue that rebuilding phase. That means we either got lucky last year or we are 100% dropping the ball this year. I understand the lockout, the new offense, the new OC, the injuries etc. but how many other teams in [...]

Rams Fall Again, 34-7 in Dallas

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

I’m starting to run out of things to say about this Rams team. There have been plenty of lows this season, but I have to think that Sunday’s performance by the defense has to be close to the top of the list. This defense allowed a rookie, third-round running back to rush for 252 yards in the 34-7 loss. In case you didn’t see the game, that is not a typo. 252 YARDS!! That set a single-game record for the Dallas Cowboys franchise, and it also represents the largest total the Rams have ever given up in their franchise history. [...]

Meet The Rams Week 7 Opponent: Dallas Cowboys

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

If you haven’t heard, the Rams have ruled quarterback Sam Bradford out for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys in Dallas. His ankle just didn’t respond to treatment quite as well as they hoped, so AJ Feeley will get the nod under center. Here is my conversaition with Cowboys writer Steven Mullenax about Sunday’s game. 1. Give us an injury update for Sunday. I believe Felix Jones has been ruled out, so who else might not suit up? G Derrick Dockery, DE Jason Hatcher, and RB Felix Jones have all been ruled out officially. K David Buehler, G Kyle Kosier, LB [...]

Still No Bradford At Rams Practice

AUTHOR: | IN: Popular, Rams | COMMENTS: None Yet

I’ve been trying to be as optimistic as possible regarding the chances Sam Bradford suits up for the Rams on Sunday, be he and the team certainly aren’t making it easy. Bradford missed practice again on Friday while dealing with his ankle injury, although he did do some work with trainer Reggie Scott on his own. I still think he’s going to play on Sunday, and the fact that he tested the ankle out a bit today makes me feel better about that prediction. It will likely be a game-time decision unless he aggravates it tomorrow during the walk-through, so [...]
