I find that very few things really surprise me when it comes to the NFL and the Rams anymore, but I have to admit that I was a bit floored when I heard the rumor today that Rams receiver Mardy Gilyard may have asked the team for a trade. Today, I heard about Roger Goodell bringing up 18 games again. Most fans last year were saying “No”. Now we’re about to have no season and fans are saying “YES!”. I always wanted 18 games and if it happens I will be very happy. Giving our Rams a better opening season. Only one thing about this 18 games is it another argument for more money? We have spent some time talking about all the good things that have been happening with the player-led workouts this week, but one name we haven’t mentioned is Steven Jackson. We haven’t mentioned SJ39 because he was not in attendance. I found it a little surprising that 35 guys showed up and Jackson wasn’t one of them, but I’m not too concerned. For those of you who live in the St. Louis area, you know all about the weather last night. For anyone not lucky enough to live in the Midwest, suffice it to say that thunderstorms and tornadoes significantly limited my ability to post a blog. Cadillac Williams (Buccaneers): Interested!¡ I’ve been hearing the buzz of Cadillacs in Rams park. I mean the runningback. There has been plenty of talk since the draft about who the Rams will go after in free agency to back up running back Steven Jackson, and those conversations usually begin and end with Darren Sproles. I’ve made it no secret that I’m a big Sproles fan, and I think he should be right at the top of the team’s list. Since no official team activities are allowed during the lockout, players have to take it upon themselves to get together if they want to work out. According to several players and league sources, Rams players are scheduled to get together starting on Monday for workout sessions in the St. Louis area. Now, I don’t know for sure who will be in attendance at these workouts, and the location is not being divulged due to security issues, but it looks like wide receiver great Torry Holt will be in town to work with the receivers and Cory Chavous will be working [...]

Safety OJ Atogwe may not be a member of the St. Louis Rams anymore, but he will always be a favorite here at Ramblin’ Fan. Keeping that in mind, I would like to wish him congratulations on his wedding to Jill Singletary, daughter of NFL legend Mike Singletary. The two had their ceremony on Saturday in California, with Rams cornerback Ron Bartell serving as a groomsman.
